On way halted at Hathikuli Tea Estate.
2 Hours Safari ride was worth an experience; were lucky to sight
many rhinos, gazelles, bison, buffalos, storks, darters, eagles during this
amazing ride. Worth all those miles travelled from West to NorthEast

Applied for Arunachal ILP
Visited many temples, banks of bramphaputra, parks in around tezpur.
Even being a town this place has better public places than Mumbai or Pune
Booked vehicle for Tawang
* Make sure to Visit this beautiful part of India before too much tourism n mad crowds
hits it. ALready many Indian tourists are seen in most of tourist attractions here

Left for Tawang from Tezpur around 7AM
Travelled through Bodo Militants area for like 30 mins; just 3 months back they had killed Tenga Base Army Kernel
Reached Bhalukpong around 9AM
After breakfast left for beautiful journey through Himalayan Mountains; something one needs to experience than only words

Short Break at Nag Mandir Bazar
There were moments where u don’t feel like looking down those valleys
Reached Bomdila around 1.20pm
Post lunch left for Dhirang
After having cup of tea in a restaurant at Dhirang Valley left for further journey
In mountains it gets dark around 5.30pm
Around 6.30 reached Baisakhi Base of Army
It was getting darker n weren’t too enthu to take risk traveling in dark on those shiver’ous roads
Decided to halt at Sange PWD inspection bunglow
Night was freezing cold; around -5C to -7C

After morning tea left for Sela Pass
Sella Pass was an amazing experience with gutsy wind n freezing cold. Met few birding fellas from HongKong who were to spend few hours in Sela valley for sighting Snow Pigeons n laughing birds
Reached Jaswant Garh around 11am. Jawant Rawat; brave hero of 1962 Indo-China war; The Memorial is dedicated to Rifleman Jaswant Singh of the 4 Garhwal Rifle. Jaswant Singh, along with two other soldiers, held his post for an unflinching 72 hours and halted the steady progress of the Chinese Army 7-8 platoons of Chinese army (over 5000 soldiers). Singh was shot dead by an bullet by the Chinese invaders. Jaswant Singh was posthumously awarded the Maha Vir Chakra and the army has posted caretakers who maintain his Memorial in its pristine state. Hope India produces few more Jaswant Rawats.
Reached Jung around 12PM; and by 1.30 we were in Tawang

Visited Tawang Monastery; founded in 1680-81 by Mera Lama Lodre Gyaltso during 17th century A.D. a contemporary of the fifth Dalai Lama. largest Buddhist monastery complex in the world
Ani Gompa(Lamas or Female Monks meditate here)
Urgelling Gompa This 14th century Gompa is next in importance only to the Tawang Monastery. This small Gompa is the birth place of the 6th Dalai Lama, Tsangyang Tashi. The Urgelling Gompa lies 6 km away from Tawang town. However if you wish to foot it, the gompa is just downhill from the Tawang Gompa.
War Memorial, During capture of Tawang Chinese army butchered 2040 Indian soldiers in Tawang; memorial commemorates the bravery of the martyred Indian soldiers of the 1962 Indo-China War. You can see names of those brave martyrs on stone slabs Punjab Regiment Garwal Rifles Mahar Regiment Maratha Regiment Rajput Regiment Gorkhas you name it you will find
Names of soldiers engraved in history here.
Had momos n thukpas in a local restaurant

Left for Sungester Tso lake; had a chance to talk with few Punjab Regiment soldiers as well Maratha Soldiers at two of checkpost’s. Punjab Regiment soldiers were kind enough to offer coffee in that freezing temperature
Stopped at PTSO lake; was lucky to see few Siberian ducks
Beautiful valley n roads by mountain cliffs, reached T gompa
Reached Sungester Tso lake, same place where one song of Koyala movie was shot
Serene Place; saw few more Siberian ducks. Had coffee at Garwal Rifles canteen
Reached Tawang city for handicrafts shopping

At a war memorial was lucky to have Tea with Punjab Regiment soldiers
