Kaas Plateau

Went to witness natures canvas of colours at Kaas plateau; Kaas is some 24 odd kms from Satara in maharashtra, muddy place that grows small flowering shrubs in monsoon. In the end of the monsoon, the shrubs give a bounty of flowers resulting in what looks like an carpet of flowers of various shades all the way from snow white purple yellow blue orange lavender to violet. Now this being wild flowers; they can be seen all over the maharashtra during monsoon season but not in so many numbers and so many different varieties of them in one single place. Magical indeed # Though dates wise looks like we should have visited 2 weeks earlier; as receded rains n harsh sun had dried most of flower plants. BTW there is recent dark side to this place; looks like this place was not known to many people till just 5-10 yrs back; recent publicity n news has made 1000s of ppl from Mumbai Pune Satara Kolhapur throng this place on weekends; And many of them are not paying great concern to preserve flower bed warnings, which may cause some stern steps for forest department to curb too many visitors in future.

#### I had a chance to witness an strange behavior as well; last stop was 1000 feet Thoseghar Waterfalls; when we stopped at Thoseghar it was raining outside so i was reluctant to carry my camera which i regret after experiencing beauty of it. There are two ways to waterfalls; one can enter in the Vally and see where exactly the water falls except the Rainy season, as this area gets heavy rainfall n its advised not to try that kind of adventure as many have lost lives doing so. Other is there is a constructed Platform on cliff to stand and take a good view of the waterfall. And second option was chose as thats only option during rainy season. To reach platfrom one has to take a small muddy patch n then few steps, from where u can enjoy this scenic waterfall n valley below. Since its an popular spot even at 6pm there were many other groups enjoying waterfall view. Section of steps has good amount of trees on one end; now here while coming up noticed someone felling down on inside muddy patch; n eventually this person was from our group; n my shout made 1 more person from our group rush to this person. since fall was on slope n neither of us had faintest idea this person had an Epileptic Seizure, he was not only shaking furiously but was rolling down towards small ditch n small wall on valley cliff. After some shouts n calls few others from group came to help us two to control n hold this person, he was still unconscious, someone got onions n after smelling him onions he got some conscious; by then some lady from our group joined us who is supposed to be an doctor n his wife i guess. Anyway she was of no use at that moment of emergency as she went blank (now thats unthinkable, anyway none of my business). Since it was already dark; 6-7 of us carried him to road, since we were in 2 buses we had his family n friends in fastest bus n asked them to leave quickly n get this person to medical attention. Now one may think why I am writing so much on an Epileptic Seizure since its very common in India n helping each other in times of need is nothing great of any mention. Reason is after we left in 2nd bus, some 30-40 mins; one of group lead got a call from other bus; looks like fresh air n this time had helped him get his consciousness; first thing he asked ppl around was where is my camera, so looks like he was carrying his camera at that moment n not seeing it he wants to ask people who spent an hour getting him to bus; helping him not slide into ditch n get more harm. Neither He and His wife had slightest courtesy to call and thank People who helped in time of emergency But like MORONs calls n asks them such stupid questions; comeon who on earth has time to pay attention to such things anyway, none of us had any idea what BILLION DOLLAR worth was that camera. IMHO insulting knowingly or unknowingly like this is an Crazy and Unthinkable behavior by any grownup.

Overall one more enjoyable event with Giridarshan team.
